Seneca Trail

The Seneca Trail was a little more challenging than the other two trails at Nature Realm.  There were lots of animal prints in the snow but they would not show up clearly in any of the pictures I took.  We saw bird, deer and squirrel prints.  We were even able to clearly see entire deer trails through the snow where several deer had crossed through the woods.  Many of the trails were quite fresh but even those would not show up in the pictures. The final hill really got me and I even had to stop mid way to take a breather.  I will be glad when my conditioning gets to the point where I don't have to stop anymore.  One day I will get there.

 I thought this picture came out particularly lovely with the water breaking through the snow.  It is more challenging to find nature pictures to feature when everything is covered in snow.  We did see a small insect.  Kind of like a mosquito type insect which I tried get a shot of but he didn't show up either.  I thought he deserved to make it on the web if he was hardy enough to be out on a day like that, but to no avail.
